39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day 5K Run & Fitness Walk

    Begins at  8 a.m. at the MLK Plaza Metrorail Station: 6205 NW 27th Ave.  

    Participant numbers and T-shirts must be picked up at race site  between 6:30 a.m.- 7:45 a.m.

 

 

Entry fees:              $25  Adults, ages 15 and older

                                 $15  Youth,  ages 14 and younger

                                  Given to top 3 finishers in each age group:             Given to top finisher  in each age group:

                                                                   · 20-75  (in 5 yr. age increments)

                                                                   · 75 and over

 

At  10 a.m., a moving unity celebration will feature Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and other religious leaders ledging to continue Dr. King’s work for social and spiritual change through interfaith collaboration.  Taking place at the parade starting line, the signing of a written covenant will be followed by the national anthem performed by a military band, and the Blessing of the Community by clergy from various traditions.  Additional entertainment will follow until the parade begins.
